210400 2004-01-27 12:59:00 Upon rereading my post MANY times, i think i see the angle that Albatross took, and I'm sorry.

Tho still hazy, i assure you that i meant that in no offense to anyone and merely wanted to bring some more humour into the forum....

(I meant delightful, not delightning, it's late at night.)

Though I'm still shocked that the prespective taken on my post was 3500% the opposite of what I intended, I'm going to go to sleep and wake up, then see how i read my post again...

Untill then I'm sorry.

*Cries, leaves, sulks, begs for attention, then cries again*

PS. When i said "beg for help", i wasn't saying the women are to beg for help i was merely bringing us all down to a level where we can be equal, in that, in a somewhat exaggerated way, we all beg for help. I know i for one do, as you know doubt have read my posts.

210401 2004-01-27 13:04:00 I really am sorry, this is my forth consecutive post, but, I'm still awestruck. Nevertheless, I'll get over it. But, I'd like to make things clear. I am not incompetent. It has been proven to me twice now that I may come across as so, or, atleast people assume.

I appreciate your comments albatross, but next time, can you please keep them to yourself. I assure you were completely wrong in everything you said about my intentions, and tho I dont know absolutely everything about computers, I know more than you give me credit for.

As the rules say, be friendly. You may have thought that I broke that rule first, but I had no intention of doing so.

I'm going to stop posting consecutively now, because that will annoy some people. (I miss editting functions on posts.)

Good night.

PS. I'm... sorry... :-s

210402 2004-01-27 13:48:00 Hey poor Growly

I never meant to get you into this much trouble

In fact, you're not in trouble with me...

I just turned off my machine to do the female stuff like making tomorrow's casserole - and when I come back, you've had a beating from Albatross... who's from the Great Southern Ocean.

Well, I'm now across the water from where the first albatross chick for the season hatched at Taiaroa Head 10 days ago & as I have a cottage at Stewart Island I can also lay claim to a piece of the Great Southern Ocean.
So you're oK in my bit of the ocean....Come and have a paddle here.

Methinks it's part of postings not staying in time order (Like...my stirring one is still at the bottom of the pile -until I post this?)
Relax & forget it all. This woman not only isn't bothered, but apologises that my post ended up by getting you a hard time from others.. It certainly wasn't intended.

210403 2004-01-27 19:07:00 What do the teenage girls you say do? They hang out with me...

hahaha, nah

In my time in coming to this forum i have learnt so much more about computers than in any other way. I start school again today (6th form) Year 12 Computing is going to be a joke really.

210404 2004-01-27 20:27:00 Thanks Laura :D

*Sigh of relief

lol mrbeef.

I came to this forum to get help, because i admittedly didn't know everything.

Level 12 NCC is a joke. That's level two of the DipICT, and I went to Weltec and did DipICT lvl 6 (not bragging).... but i have to do it, and can gurantee it will be a waste of time.

But these diplomas, though extremely useful, teach you so much that you dont really need to know. I learned that despite the indepth knowledge of workings, troubleshooting is really just all about hands on experience.

And for that, I'd like to thank every PF1er.

210405 2004-01-27 20:31:00 Growly mate - just nod. Don't try to explain yourself. 12 years of marriage has taught me that nodding is the best way.

:D

if a man speaks in a forest and no woman is there to hear him, is he still wrong? ;)

210407 2004-01-28 01:13:00 I agree Laura, there aren't many females around here.
I don't think we are given enough credit for our geeky knowledge!

This coming from the only female in the idg web/it dept :o)

210408 2004-01-28 01:29:00 we will see more women in the computer world in the near future i'm sure...
i remember seeing some IT classes at tech last year mainly women students apart from the odd 1-2 guys (not including teachers) and all the teachers on that course was female...so maybe they using their experience in teaching instead of something Mary H Does...

anyway back to the main point of this thread..
is it cheaper to buy this pc and then upgrade it..or buy the upgraded pc straight away? or does it depend on what i wanna upgrade?

210409 2004-01-28 01:42:00 Im surprised there is any women here at all, shouldn't you be out picking the kids up from school or something?shopping?cleaning?

However i think its nice some of you get to play on the pc's,but.......How do you reach them?.....are they set up in the kitchen or something?Would they not get in the way of your industrious cooking of pie?

Try not to spill any shake n vac on them aye......thats a good girl.
