if so go into options and untick play media within browser.

its not that hard to understand right..youre browsing your folders and you select a media file (.avi, .mp3 etc.) and then on the left hand side of the window this little media player comes up and loads the file, its like a tiny version of the player window with options to play, pause, stop etc.

you can disable it by changing the folder view in folder options to have web view off, this gets rid of the whole left bar which displays info on your files when you select a file. but the thing is i need that left bar for info, thats the reason i highlight files, to check size etc. so i dont want to have to disable the web view, just get rid of this stupid windows media player thing.

ive done this once before, it involved editing a registry key with a "-" in front of it, and that solved the problem. however i have been unable to find this. ive searched google and it gives me no help. i just wondered if anyone has had this similiar problem and can help. all on windows 2000

210873 2004-01-31 10:40:00 jin i think its in the advanced folder options i used to have same prob i didnt like the lil media player loadin up on the left side of the folder evrytime i checked a file's details. i didnt do anything reg editing just sussed something in the folder options
