| 1355469 | 2013-10-08 22:06:00 | I want to buy more RAM for my laptop. It's a Dell Inspiron 15R Special Edition and I know that it has a slot for an extra 4GB. FYI I'm also running Win 8 64 bit. I've never installed or bought RAM before, but the current 4GB RAM in my laptop says it is "4GB 2RX8 PC3-12800S-11-11-FP". I looked online and found these two models: www.playtech.co.nz www.playtech.co.nz I'm just wondering if they are both compatible with my laptop and what the differences are between them i.e. why is one more expensive than the other? Cheers. |

Some require DDR3L (the $79 SODIMM you've linked), some require DDR3 (the $69 SODIMM you've linked). Dell list the Special Edition as standard DDR3, but also say it comes with 8GB standard. So, do you have a specific model number? | inphinity (7274) | ||
| 1355472 | 2013-10-10 21:58:00 | Ahhh! I found it. The parts list when I bought it says it has 4GB 1 DIMM (4GB x1) DDR3 1600Mhz BTW the model is Inspiron 15R (7520). So I should get the $69 one? Cool, thanks for your help. |

| 1355474 | 2013-10-10 22:18:00 | It's probably because I got it last year - I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 8. And I haven't got a touch screen. Thanks for all your help! |
