Hi Speedy, you may gather from the request that something was ammiss, both wife's pc and this one upgraded to FireFox 24 and that caused a few problems.

Had to put ver 22 back on here from thumb drive as ver 24 locked me out of getting through to most ISP addresses.

Wife's came right this morning for some unknown reason when we tried the addresses that wouldn't come up.

NOW, have carried out the corrections as listed.

Cannot find Bitguard tho, tried XP's add/remove, revouninstallter and everything to search for it.

A nasty MYPC Backup program has gotten onto this machine and having un-installed it it now pops up when I switch the pc on in the morning, as a little box down by the clock, I had been leaving it on overnight to defrag and know that is naughty, lol.

Java old versions were a bloat and the new ver and deletions have been carried out.

Kind regards,

Lurking.

Ps. Google has always been the home page, but the attached now appears in the Google bar. Control Panel says Google.

1354843 2013-10-02 03:59:00 Looks like that's a browser hijacker. Try this, see if any of these are in add/remove programs (malwaretips.com). Browserprotect /delta toolbar

And use of of the programs listed here.

If both of you use FF, go to addons / see if it's there. And remove it, as well as delta toolbar.

Or if you want chuck teamviewer on them, and I'll check them out. Probably the easiest way to fix it, uninstall FF, delete its folders then reinstall it

1354844 2013-10-02 09:13:00 Hi Speedy, everything seems to be in order now, sneaky FF upgraded ver. 24 while I wasn't looking, lol.

This is son-in-law's PC and I think there is/was plenty of Uniblue software which I put over to an external hard drive, will delete these.
