1354785 2013-10-01 23:08:00 I've tried googling but cant get a clear answer.

If I have 5 ipads, all signed in with the same itunes account, when I purchase software from the app store, can I install it on all ipads for the one purchase?

1354788 2013-10-02 00:15:00 Thanks guys, now to the next part - what happens if a different itunes account is added - do the apps installed on the first account still functon? 6ix (15746)
1354789 2013-10-02 00:32:00 So you're Looking for a way to distribute your apps :p

It probably won't work as the apps are tied to the active account, android is the same in that respect.

1354790 2013-10-02 00:46:00 Yes the apps will install and work, but you have to sign back into the account the app was installed on to update it. Alex B (15479)
1354791 2013-10-02 03:35:00 Thanks guys - yep have tested and is working, they're for a classroom-type environment, I'll be managing them with MDM as well. One time that apple being so user centric pays off! 6ix (15746)

It should update all the iPads with the purchased app when you sync each iPad with the iTunes account or have them automatically update over wifi.

1354793 2013-10-08 00:16:00 If you have it setup to sync via wifi and purchase your apps on a computer on the same network I should think it would update them all at the same time. Slankydudl (16687)
1354794 2013-10-08 05:00:00 Think you can do up to 6 iOS devices with the same set of apps/music at once. icow (15313)
