What browser is the default browser? If its not IE make the other browser the default browser |

Can also be related to security settings in the e-mail program or the browser, prevents some types of phishing attacks from being run too easily and may be on by default, have a look through the settings. I don't have thunderbird or I'd look for you. |

Suggest you google, say, "hyperlinks not working thunderbird" as there are several reasons for your problem so you will need to try/examine various 'solutions'.
Had this happen after chrome was uninstalled even though it was never the default browser. |
