That is a good one. I have encountered a few weird ones, but none good enough that I can still remember them.

1332958 2013-03-17 10:31:00 Technically I guess it's not exceptionally weird when you think about it, probably just some resource sharing issue caused by a cheap motherboard design. Agent_24 (57)

1332961 2013-03-17 21:50:00 Friend received a file saying "Click here for free cup holder" - he clicked button, CD drive opened, he closed it, CD drive opened, he closed it, CD opened again... He doesn't click free things off the internet anymore :) lordnoddy (3645)
1332962 2013-03-17 22:21:00 Not sure if this is weird or just disgusting, a friends PC stop working all together and on inspection I discovered that one of her cats had peed on the side vent and the CPU fan had sucked it in and sprayed it around the case. It was apparently completely dead and if I was getting paid for it I might have said it all needed replacing but I wasn't so figuring there was nothing to lose I took it all apart, removed the battery and RAM, took it outside and hosed the heck out of the motherboard with the garden hose. A colleague had actually suggested a cold cycle in the dishwasher without detergent but no way was I having cat pee where I put my dishes.

After a few days in the hot water cupboard I reassembled it and it all worked, except one RAM chip with a bit of corrosion on the contacts and after a clean-up that worked too. It was still going 18 months later when it was eventually replaced.

1332964 2013-03-17 22:37:00 Our workshop PC: if CDROM is plugged into certain Sata ports(not all) , IDE port stops working.
Took a while to figure out why 3 different IDE Hard drives 'seemed' to be faulty while looking for a good IDE drive I could use

1332965 2013-03-18 01:33:00 Many years ago when I was working in Singapore one of the office PCs was overheating. When we opened it up the fan and most of the inside was jammed full of chicken feathers. The PC had previously been at a client's place, who presumably was a chicken farmer/butcher/fancier or whatever. Tony (4941)
