1354944 2013-10-03 21:22:00 I finally decided to go Fibre with Telecom. Installation is scheduled on 14 Oct.; received the DSL wireless modem this morning - pretty fast!

Had a quick look at the DSL wireless modem - it's a TG587n v3. and IP address is 192.168.1.254. Went through the configuration of the TG587n, I can disable the WLAN fairly easily. :) ,
as I don't want to use the WLAN of this TG587n as my Linksys EA3500 wireless AP is working perfectly, we are very happy with it.

The IP for my EA3500 is 192.168.1.1. - they are in the same subnet.

Would I be able to bridge the 2 with the above IP addresses? I could change the Linksys EA3500 IP but doing so will affect all my PCs, Printer, TV, Phones, etc. which I'll only do it if there's no other easier way.

Your suggestions, please.

1354945 2013-10-03 21:28:00 Just change the IP range of the new modem to suit your existing subnet SolMiester (139)
1354946 2013-10-03 21:29:00 Edit - yes, connect via ethernet and bang, ready to go!, as long as the Linksys AP has the correct gateway IP of the new modem! SolMiester (139)
1354947 2013-10-03 21:42:00 AFAIK you don't even need that TG587n, just pull it out and set the WAN of your Linksys to DHCP and it *should* just work? Chilling_Silence (9)
1354948 2013-10-03 21:44:00 Is there a way to change the IP address of this TG587n to say, 192.168.2.1 (like what I did to my present DrayTek Vigor 120, works brilliantly with my Linksys AE3500)? Couldn't figure out how to change it in this TG interface. LOL

Another question: Can my present DrayTek Vigor120 be used as the Fibre modem?

WOW, Chilling, I'm excited! Can you elaborate a little further? You mean, I just pull out the Ethernet cable from the DrayTek and connect it to the new Chorus Fibre unit?

1354950 2013-10-03 22:17:00 I don't think so I haven't tried it but Geekzone says Telecom doesn't allow you but technically you can if you were given the rights. Nomad (952)

I don't believe the EA3500 supports VLAN tagging on the WAN interface, but if it does, then this is an option.

The Vigor120 is an ADSL modem. So no.

1354952 2013-10-03 22:25:00 Yep, have to have vlan tagging for it to work. linw (53)
