| 211709 | 2004-01-31 06:04:00 | I have just built a jukebox/home orientated PC for my lounge and thought that it would be nice to create a customized desktop background for it. Was thinking along the lines of an image with the words: "Home Entertainment PC" sitting prominently on top occupying maybe 1/3 of whole screen space. Is there any easy way of doing this with a graphics program or something similar?? Thanks in advance. |

If you have a jpeg or bmp format picture you wish to use Irfanview is capable of inserting basic text. For more control, a greater variety of text options, stacks of filters and special effects there is Oriens Enhancer here www.oriens-solution.com Its an 11 meg download but its freeware, stable, fully functionable and although not as feature rich as Photoshop, Corel Draw or Paint Shop its easy to use and comes with good help files, templates and textures. The download site claims it is not tested under Xp but it works perfectly. |

Then just select it the usual way by right clicking the desktop and selecting it from the wallpapers. | Greg S (201) | ||
