| 211682 | 2004-01-31 03:17:00 | When I tried to open Family Tree Maker (11) I received the message, "The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application" I have uninstalled the program twice and re-installed and still the same message. So , in desperation I installed an earlier version (9). This installed OK and seems to be OK. BUT when I tried to open a backed up file I get the message that the file was created by a later version of FTM and can not be opened. All other programs on my HD open and run OK FTM (11) was working correctly yesterday. Today I have tried opening it several different ways all with the same result. My CD appears to be OK , and anyway even if it was faulty that wouldn't affect the instilled version on my HD. Luckily I have my files well backed up, but I can't use them. Any suggestion very welcome. :-( :-( :-( Jack |
