| 211909 | 2004-02-04 04:11:00 | I use Firebird almost all the time now: as Phoenix it used to be slow to launch, but no longer. Tabbed browsing is a great idea, and popups get swatted reliably. Haven't yet figured how to interface it with Download Accelerator (help welcomed). Yes, my wife and kids still use IE (the latter, also Outlook, MSN Messenger, etc, etc; I must have a talk with them :-) ) Just asked my wife, because I started her on Netscape years ago and it had until recently been her browser of choice; she says IE enlarges hard-to-read text more reliably than Netscape (which probably simply means more websites are written to work properly with IE). I must get her to test Firebird. As for transition and "look and feel" my elder daughter, using my machine the other day, had no trouble with Firebird, despite being a hardened IE-ite. Argus |
