212149 2004-02-01 15:50:00 Hello

I am planning to buy a new fone on tradme. If i win an auction the bid of course closes and I'll be emailing the person seller.
I was wondering.Am i right that after hes given me his account name, number and type of bank he uses.
I would go to the bank and simply show them my account number and his account number and asked them to transfer my money across?
Is it that simple?
I've never tried anything like putting money in someone else's account so i was wondering how the procedure goes!!

212150 2004-02-01 17:55:00 WELL you can maybe using his account number simply transfer the money in thru the internet, (that's how I do it) otherwise just goto the bank and deposit the $$ into their account ...........simple really drcspy (146)
212151 2004-02-01 18:27:00 Hi there, i was new to trademe about buying stuff .

Generally if you set up internet banking thru whatever bank you have . (I am with BNZ and had to setup Telephone banking first)

and then you goto Transfers/Payments in the IB section of BNZ then add new payee and its pretty simple, costs . 50c a time you add a new payee too .

And then you just transfer money over .

generally if you ask the dude how he would prefer you doing it he should tell you, everyone on trademe is generally a nice person

212152 2004-02-01 20:22:00 Internet banking as explained above is the best method.
Otherwise you have to go to their bank ANZ,BNZ etc.. with a cheque or cash. Fill out a deposit form and go to the teller with form and money.

Are there any legal actions you can do?

212154 2004-02-01 23:20:00 Not a lot - inform Trade Me & and add some comments to their profile. I've had one bum deal in the fact that the phone I bought didn't work. Just make sure that you read the sellers profile first. - or use Safe Buy - you pay for this, so depends on the value of the goods.
Bye

212155 2004-02-01 23:23:00 The first thing you want to do before paying for anything on TradeMe is check the seller's feedback. It is a very good indicator of how reliable a member is. Bad feedback on TradeMe is highly undesirable and to be avoided because it can affect future transactions. If the member is new and has no or few feedbacks you take your chances like everyone else. People have to start somewhere however. dudess_on_a_mish (4468)
