212467 2004-02-03 04:04:00 Hello every one

At the moment I am in the process of doing a update of my website (which it needs badly! ;) :D)

Any ideas what font / fonts should I be using??? & Which fonts most people would have on there computer (so my site look good on any computer ;) )

The fonts I am using at the moment are:

Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, san-serif
Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif
Default Font (not too sure what it is ?:| ) ( yes Iam using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX ;))

You can see the 1st update version here: stuartw.orcon.net.nz (note: this version is a tad out of date & I have correct the spelling error on my local copy ;) :D ]:))

I use to use Times New Roman, Times, serif for most of my website before… but I cant get a nice mach.

I would use Arial, but it is not nice IMO

212468 2004-02-03 07:20:00 I'd stick to the ones you've been using, Arial, Helvetica, Verdana, TNR, etc. as they seem to be pretty standard.

I have a feeling you can specify "Font families" somehow so that the browser will load a similar one rather than limiting it to one named one which if not present will then default to the default (usually TNR I think).

212469 2004-02-03 07:44:00 I agree with Mike. Stick to Arial, Helvetica, Verdana. I dislike Times New Roman on webpages its harder to read on a screen. Fire-and-Ice (3910)

212471 2004-02-04 20:10:00 Stu,

Verdana, Arial, Times New Roman and Helvetica, are the most commonly used. Tahoma and Trebuchet MS are also becoming more common.

"Default Font" in DW I think doesn't specify a font at all, and will default to whatever is set in the users browser (usually Times).
