212295 2004-02-02 04:47:00 Away from home and using Win 98 I can't import my Outlook Express WAB (windows address book) into either OE 5.0 or 6.0. It was created with OE 5.5. Help please. aggie (5214)
212296 2004-02-02 04:59:00 What happens after the Open OE- file-import-addressbook ?
Does it then come up with a window looking for the WAB file? Which I take it you have on disk?

212298 2004-02-03 04:34:00 importing into OE6 and the address book
"An error occurred during the import process. The import process could not be completed"

I got a more detailed error message importing into OE5

The address book file has been locked by another application.

212300 2004-02-03 05:30:00 That error often occurs when the wab you are trying to import is set to read only or is on a cd. Copy it off the cd and then change the attribute to read/write then you should be able to import it no problem. the other reason it can occur is when the version of OE or Outlook is Earlier than the version you were using beofre, make sure you have updated your OE or outlook. 212301 2004-02-03 06:11:00 FYI, just in case, to change attribute, rightclick on file and choose properties. You will see a readonly tick box, just untick.
You can only do this on the hard drive or floppy (with its lock/unlock tab in unlocked positon.)
So as Odin say's, copy to desktop and change attribute.
