I vaguely remember a topic about this not to long ago. What would create such a file |

| 212353 | 2004-02-02 09:21:00 | MS had a bug in an update a while back. It creates a backup of the Outlook Express Address Book with a tilde (~) as a filename. Seems like its never been fixed. It often shows up on the desktop. |

| 212354 | 2004-02-02 09:26:00 | godfather, just keep a notepad file on your desktop with that answer copied in there. Label the text document "Solution to the ~ problem". Then when you see a similiar thread start on the topic, fire up the text document, and copy paste as necessary. I estimate this will save you 5mins a week. Over the course of a year it will save you 4.7hrs of your time. |
