212496 2004-02-03 05:20:00 I've tried everything I know about, run Spybot and Adaware both totally up to date and so is Norton's Anti-virus.

Adaare too out 2 registry items but it's sitill there on every boot-up.

I've read the FAQ this morning that deals with unwanted homepages but I can't get back into the FAQs (stops dead) to find the registry hack.

I'm a complete novice when it somes to the registry. Anyone here can give me the entry to change.

Thanks in advance. mark c

212498 2004-02-03 06:05:00 You may want to run the registry editor and look for any references to the web page thats loading. In the mean time use an alternative web browser thats less suseptable to hijacking :) mark.p (383)
212499 2004-02-03 06:05:00 Download and use this (www.spywareinfo.com).
If it doesn't work, post back.

212500 2004-02-03 06:36:00 Thanks a billion, Phoenix!

:) :) :) :) :)

That Cwshredder has done it. I rebooted three times and yes Google was there like it used to be.

I went to Spybot/Immunise and changed all the entries except google to "blank page" and booted and it came up "about blank" which I changed to google and then ran your suggestion and it found 10 infected reg entries and fixed and I rebooted and whoppeeeeeeee! :D

May all your traffic lights be green! ............mark c

212504 2004-02-03 07:08:00 Thanks to you too mark.p and I usually use Opera myself but this is a friend's place that I'm house-sitting and using their comp with IE. That's why I was so desperate to get it fixed. I help out ppl with computer probs to the level I can manage, (and always learning) and I did fix their probs then contracted a bunch of my own.

Thanks for your concern and may all yr traffic lites b green 2....mark c :)
