212592 2004-02-04 19:04:00 yingxuan, you haven't made it clear whether you have the Acrobat Reader or the full Acrobat product. If you have the full Acrobat and want to do what godfather suggests, then there is another way. You can define a form field over the top of each area in the underlying document and type into that. tbacon_nz (865)
212593 2004-02-04 20:34:00 Hi Tony

Based my opinion on yingxuan's previous post history on PF1, it is highly unlikely that he has the full Adobe product. If he did, he wouldn't be trying to do this in Word. It seems clear that he only has the reader, however since he hasn't responded for a while, I guess we need to wait for his next question.

Cheers

212596 2004-02-04 23:39:00 under select text in adobe reader 6.I can click on select text or select image but not both.Even if i click on select image. It will not highlight the square where u write the details yingxuan (3330)
212597 2004-02-04 23:41:00 My friend wants to fill in the form but because its a pdf file u have to use adobe reader.I was hoping I can convert the student allowance form to a word document.Send it to her by email and then she can print it off and fill it by hand then send it to studylink. It takes too long to download adobe reader 6.She uses a 56k modem and so do I.It was lucky that they put it in this months magazine otherwise I fink i'll die waiting! yingxuan (3330)
212598 2004-02-04 23:50:00 When you click on the Image Select tool your cursor should change to cross hairs, like a gun sight. As explained, drag from one corner of the document and drag to the opposite corner or however much you want to copy, when you release the mouse button it will automatically send the image to the windows clipboard. From there paste away to your hearts contentment.

Cheers Murray P

BTW. The latest ver of Adobe Reader is 6.0xx

212600 2004-02-05 16:44:00 Just tried it .
Each page can be copied just fine as an image, and pasted into Word as a picture .

When you select the "Snapshot Tool" (the button to the right of the Select Text button) you can outline the whole page .

IT DOES NOT "HIGHLIGHT" THE AREA . It creates a rectangle around it

The moment you release the mouse button the outlined area is copied to the clipboard .

In Word just right click on the page and select Paste .

It works . Thats whats been recommended above .

Why will it not work for you?

212601 2004-02-05 16:51:00 Dare I suggest that sometimes there IS a case for the old-fashioned version..?

The Studylink pages have Freephone, fax & email information on how to have a form sent out - plus offices where one could be collected.

Why not just get a form that way? It might be quicker in the end - or wouldn't that be enough of a challenge?
