| 212770 | 2004-02-04 07:37:00 | Also have a look at this FAQ:FAQ # 5 Why does scandisk/defrag restart after only 10%? (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) Note: This FAQ might be a wee bit slow loading. |

| 212771 | 2004-02-04 07:39:00 | OK first off Welcome to PF1, In my understanding when you defrag it is best not to have any other programs running, We have a FAQ on this very thing, click on top right corner FAQS, but be prepared for a lengthy time to load, well worth the read, quite an interesting amount of questions in this section to look at (apart from the defrag one) Also i understand when it wont work at all people have been known to do a defrag in safe mode, i have not tried this so could be wrong. But would try again when nothing is running, and you dont say what system specs you have, but i think if you have a lot of mem / space taken up and you havent done this for a while a defrag can take a little while so be prepared for the wait. beetle |

| 212772 | 2004-02-04 07:45:00 | Slow loading???? Just as well I didn't want to read it. After 8 minutes on my broadband connection it still hadn't loaded. Not downloading anything else at the same time. | Elephant (599) | ||
| 212773 | 2004-02-04 08:07:00 | Ctrl+alt+delete, taskmanager, shut down all processes you don't have to run and then try defrag again. If you don't know what processes must run then you will have to read the faq. | zqwerty (97) | ||
