Excuse my ignorance but maybe someone will be able to clarify this question for me. I mainly use Mozilla Firebird as my browser of choice but still have Internet Explorer on my computer running XP (Home). Is it critical to install these so-called MS critical updates when using an alternative browser? If the answer is ..yes..why is this? |

have the problem is IE is part of the OS so a hole in the browser can be a hole in the OS. other apps can exploit the hole. personally i keep it up to date just incase i need to use IE or another app uses IE to gain access to the net. |
