| 213127 | 2004-02-06 02:10:00 | Has anyone had recent trouble with HP 3300c scanner.Has been working good on XP Home but now says no scanner can be found. Tried it on W98 machine and ok so think a Windows Update may have stopped scanner from working.any ideas before I throw it away and get new one? Have tried HP Site but no joy |

| 213129 | 2004-02-06 07:19:00 | Hi Lofty, it seems these HP scanners are very fussy about OS & IE. I have an HP 2300. From the start it was recognised with Win98se & IE6, but when attempting to open the HP Director (which uses IE for displaying scan options), I got 'script errors' & it would not proceed. Nothing helped, HP online, HP helpdesk could not fix. No joy like you. I tried it on another PC using Win98se & IE5, and it worked. Seems to be some conflict between HP software & IE6. I hope Lofty, someone can offer a way to have your scanner found on your XP home OS, and I'd be glad if anyone can offer a way I can solve the 'scripts errors' mentioned above. |
