| 213527 | 2004-02-07 23:12:00 | Hi there people, A little bit of help is required here. My computer specs are as follows: 600MHz Intel 810 chipset 192 Ram CD-Rom drive 48x OS was Win ME Have just installed XP Pro and is now running ok, execpt my external writer (HP 8200 series) has been giving a lot of trouble, even though I have installed the updated drivers. Some of my backups on cds I can nolonger read???. Probably because the cd was never finished off, still more to write. Or maybe cause I installed XP as NTFS and the backups were Fat32???. Any way I now will cut my losses and install a CD-RW where the CD Rom was. I only need a run of the mill CD-RW (52/24/52) are they easy to install by a lay person, and will I/need additional cables etc. Is there enough info here. Thanks cheers merlin-nz ;-) |

At the rear, is a moveable link, that is across what looks like a socket with pins. Note it's position. This should coincide with MA (master) SL (slave) CS (cable select). Now make the link coincide to the same on the CD/RW. Just plug it in and fire up your PC. Then just add the burning software. |
