Then try your ISP which, according to a little investigation on my part, seems to be Xtra (or a VISP using the Xtra IP range).

Their usage meter is available here (www.xtra.co.nz) and should use your normal login details.

I won't bother chastising you for using Xtra, but seriously, consider changing.

Yup... think you're preaching to the choir a bit here though. Absolutely ridiculous amounts of money yet they can't afford to upgrade exchanges etc etc ad nauseum, and need to increase rental costs to cover increased costs of delivery, except where there's competition like Wgtn and ChCh

Whats going on??? IP what/>?

Try this url: jetstream usage meter (www.telecom.co.nz) FOR NON XTRA USERS. Read down the bottom for logging in as a first time user. lmao. I think wtf is taking the piss because he raves on at others for saying xtra is the only isp, yet provides an Xtra only jetstream usage meter link. lmao.

Oh I sorta traced Growly's IP to work out his ISP so I could link him to the right usage meter :D

The Telecom JetStream meter was covered earlier in the thread. Direct link (without all the , and - ed (I hate those content management packages) URL is available below:

213327 2004-02-09 19:15:00 We have been having huge problems with the Telecom (not xtra) usage meter for 18 months now. It is crap, to be polite.
I have installed a software monitoring package (any@web) which is installed on a PC that's connected to a hub which sits between the hardware firewall and ADSL router.
Since installing the software late last year (October I think) mostly the Telecom usage meter is double our actual usage. And we are logging every bit of data through the hub remember. This has costs us hugely in overcharging costs and having to have a larger data cap than we actually need.
Telecom cannot give us any breakdown of websites, emails, ftp etc but I can. I'm just waiting for this billing period to finish so I can draft a letter to Telecom basically demanding an answer and also some financial recourse...

damn straight...

are you serious when you say Xtra CONNOT provide a breakdown of how your bandwidth is used? If they are providing a capped service for which you pay if you go over, isnt it a requirement to provide proof for billing?

213329 2004-02-10 02:53:00 It's not Xtra it's telecom.
But yes they can (if we email them) give us a spreadsheet of usage by the hour (if you are lucky) but often it's in one or two day blocks with simply total upload amount and total download amount - no indication of email or web etc breakdown.

Who knows if it's a requirement for billing? I mean to say, that when you sign on the line to get Jetstream you are agreeing to their requirements in the document and I doubt that they are going to leave themselves open to doubt.
But that doesn't mean we will sit back - with comparison figures like what I've got we could (and should) be owed thousands...
