213979 2004-02-09 09:06:00 What sort of mouse PJ? PS2/serial/USB & brand etc

Have you tried another mouse and have you checked the button allocations for spontaneous changes?

Cheers

213980 2004-02-09 17:31:00 Its a Labtec PS2 wireless. Been working fine up until yesterday. I tried the old mouse and same result. peejayw (5130)
213981 2004-02-10 03:08:00 Try uninstalling it in device manager and remove the software using its uninstaller if it has one (or using add/remove programs in control panel) then reboot and allow it to be detected again. Install the software using the disk/CD if called for, or your OS may find the required drivers or an equivalent and instal them itself.

213982 2004-02-10 03:58:00 I tried all that but no joy. I dont think its a mouse fault, I think it Windows. I can right click on items in the start tray, its just when I click on icons in a window that the window freezes for about 5 min and there are no RMB selections. peejayw (5130)
213983 2004-02-10 07:12:00 So no problems with copy, paste, etc, even from the keyboard. Just thinking virus here.

213984 2004-02-10 17:47:00 I can copy and paste vis keyboard OK. Also, I can RM click on a file OK, just not a directory. That is, if I open My Documents, I can RC on a file there and all the RMB options open up, but if I RC on a sub-folder icon then the system goes to na-na land and I get the "this ogram is not respinding" message.
I am running NAV 2003 and it is up-to-date with virus definitions.
Thanks,
peejay
