213872 2004-02-09 03:49:00 Hi, I have just set up a linux proxy server with squid on the school network, and am having trouble with MacOS X. OSX can't connect up to https sites, and yet, the pc's can. The config file is the default one, with minor changes, and I have compiled squid with --enable-ssl. The original server was apache, but we changed after finding squid had more fetures (and the ones that we needed). Anyone with any experience with squid and MacOS X out there?

Thanks,
sparq

213873 2004-02-09 04:12:00 What browser are you using on the OS X box(es). Could it be a security setting within the browser? Dolby Digital (160)
213874 2004-02-09 06:58:00 No, it shouldn't be a setting in the browser because I've tried Safari and IE.

213877 2004-02-09 11:52:00 If the proxying is transparent it may not function properly, many SSL systems have weird interactions through transparent proxies, particularly with non Windows IE browsers.

Try setting the browser to address the cache directly.

213878 2004-02-10 08:31:00 That won't help, The server is running on linux. None of the macs at the school are good enough to serve the school internet.

213879 2004-02-11 04:37:00 No, it's not a transparent proxy. Just thinking, does the mac version of IE have it's own proxy settings in it? I'm not at the school so I can't check

Thanks,
