| 213813 | 2004-02-08 21:49:00 | Somehow I have turned off the 'Add; button when cecking spelling & grammer. I have tried fiddling with the options etc but can't get the bugger back on. Custom Dicitionary is ticked. Also, it keeps defaulting to checking in US English, when as a kiwi, I'd like the durn thing to stick to NZ English - or even the pommy version would do. Thanks for any help. | Lynz (5244) | ||

If clicked it shows the path and name of the dictionary file. Does this show a valid file? How have you tried to set the language? Tools/Language/Set Language. Select English(NZ) and click the Default button. One other tricky thing is to check what language your keyboard is set to. It should be English(NZ) as well. Under win98 control panel/Regional Settings/Keyboard/Language is where you set it from memory. Under XP same route - set everything you can see to Eng(NZ)! Good luck. |

| 213815 | 2004-02-09 00:19:00 | I have recently noted this, even though I have set English (NZ) in Tools/Language/Set Language and selected "Default" followed by Tools/Options/Spelling & Grammar/Dictionaries. What I have since found is that if Add is greyed out, if you right click on the word it will pop up an option for Languages again but witha subtle difference that i can't quite remember. Anyway, select English (NZ) in that box then click OK and the Add function will return. All very mysterious and very very Microsoft. Incidentally, it didn't occur until I selected English (NZ) in the first two options. Go figure! Cheers Billy 8-{) :| |
