Also, just check that you email scanner is on for incomming emails. Sounds silly I know, but sometimes the silliest things........ :p Regards, The Cell :D |

| 213729 | 2004-08-20 00:51:00 | Grisoft documentation is pretty vague but it seems they are saying that the 'basic' avg does NOT check emails on systems with mail handlers other than Outlook and Edura even if EMail Scanner is on - so those of us using Outlook Express etc do not get our emails checked. However, they go on to say thatr Resident Shield will provide the necessary protection anyway. You can read all this in the 'ReadMe' text file that downloaded with the program originally. It goes on to provide a link to a 'beta' patch that will implement email checking for anyone. A mate of mine has downloaded it and now notes that when he is receiving/sending email the avg logo in the Sysatem tray spins, I guess indicating it is checking the emails. I've not tried it myself, being afraid of 'beta' releases! |
