2004-02-09 06:50:00 | I not sure but i keep getting an error message that my computer has to shut down because of a RPC failure, when i looked it up my computer has all the signs of a blaster infection, but there is no msblaster.exe file anywhere? help i cannot download any e-mails, so-far i have manged to curb the shutting down by changing the RPC settings but i really want to get rid of this

2004-02-09 07:16:00 | you don't need to be infected by blaster to have your pc shut down. install a firewall or if XP turn the MS one on. | tweak'e (174) | |
2004-02-09 07:48:00 | umm please read my whole post, i looked at saites that showed the symptoms of blaster and my computer shows ALL the signs not just shutting down, also ive tried running a reg search for blaster and norton but both shutdown halfway through their procedures, i really hope there is something i can do short of wiping my comp. | robert6655 (5176) | |
2004-02-09 07:51:00 | So download a blaster removal tool, or antivirus program and clean the machine. Also go to Windows Update and get the appropriate patches.

2004-02-09 08:08:00 | <sigh> installing the firewall will allow you to stay online, assuming you have killed any blaster.exe that are running. then you can download the patch. however there are virations of blaster. not to sure at the mo which one (if any) will kill nortons. you may have been infected with something else as well. try the firewall see if it can stay online long enough to run an online virus scanner.

2004-02-09 09:45:00 | You know, last time i saw an infected machine, "msblast.exe" was a running process. | Growly (6) | |
