214197 2004-02-10 00:58:00 Why has my 19" monitor decided to stick at 800 x 600 pixels and will not, no matter how hard I try, allow me to change it back to 1024 x 768 pixels? It's driving me nuts. I have to confess I've been receiving some weird error messages recently and my PC wouldn't boot at all on a couple of occasions. Please don't say it's dying... karent (5222)
214198 2004-02-10 01:03:00 a bit more infomation about your computer and the errors you have been getting would be good.

my first guess is it will be a issue with the driver for you video card, try installing the latest one from the internet.

214200 2004-02-10 04:06:00 Could it be - with the boot difficulties, your computer has started in "Safe Mode"? Did you see any messages to that effect on start-up? R2x1 (4628)
214201 2004-02-10 05:11:00 PC is Gateway 800, OS Win XP Pro, 512MB RAM, Gateway VX900 monitor. Sorry, I can't recall details of error messages, other than at least one instance of it starting in Safe Mode. In fact, I haven't been able to get the resolution to change since that happened. I hate computers.
:-)

214202 2004-02-10 05:21:00 Well, if it did start in safe mode, it will select 800 600, amongst other limited choices. So don't worry too much, it's not your monitor that's at fault. Maybe you'll have to note the error messages though :-) R2x1 (4628)
214203 2004-02-10 21:11:00 you need to find out what graphics driver you need and reinstall them use AIDA32 program search online for it using google kiwibeat (304)
