214101 2004-02-09 20:35:00 I work at a Cybercafe.

Ive been talking to my employers, and they're keen to employ the idea of pupup-less surfing for our customers, its the biggest gripe of n00b's who just want to surf and check their email.

Can Firefox be locked down so they cant change the settings?

Cheers

Chill.

214102 2004-02-09 20:57:00 Well the configurations are done by way of a text file, maybe setting the file to be read-only could do the track, sort of atleast anyway. -=JM=- (16)
214103 2004-02-09 21:01:00 Also of course any information on firefox can be found here most of the time. - just not at the moment though. texturizer.net -=JM=- (16)
214104 2004-02-09 22:47:00 Would it be possible to just set it to discard the firebird profile at logout/login? The default profile is kept in $FIREBIRDDIR\defaults\profile so you could make up something custom for the cafe.

Although there must be something better.

214105 2004-02-09 23:17:00 At the moment I can't speak to the ability to lock down pref UI in Firefox. The back end supports this but we have not investigated the front end work required to support this yet. I think the Mozilla app suite supports this however. We will hopefully get to this before 1.0. If you're interested you can look for an existing bug in bugzilla.mozilla.org or file one.

Thanks, I'd rather not go with the full Mozilla Suite, but stick to Firefox if possible.

So its supported, just needs a front-end written?
