214300 2004-02-10 06:42:00 Sorry telecom but your expensive and monopolistic services are no longer required. :D ...No multiple jetstream connections on one phone line (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz) *mumble mumble*...

So I've got my woosh modem going and its crankin out the speed at 283k!! :D Still got to figure out how I'm going to share it between the other computers. I'm hoping it will work ok in conjunction with my Dynalink RTA 300 ADSL Router/modem/ switch.

Anyone had experience with sharing it on a switch??? Apparently it can be done :)

Who here even has woosh???

214303 2004-02-10 08:01:00 I do, and it's pretty easy so far, drops me off occasionaly, maybe once every couple of days. I don't use there login software, it's just too slow. It sure is easy to use, and could be habbit forming. :-)

214304 2004-02-10 08:44:00 So how do you login if you don't use the software?? PoWa (203)
214305 2004-02-10 09:04:00 Well, it's pretty high tech. :8} hit Start, Connections and select Woosh. It's automagically there, all ready to go. I just dropped an icon on the desktop, and it worked rather faster than the Woosh pack. No pretty pics, just fast connect and logon. Might have to give Win a small + for that R2x1 (4628)
214306 2004-02-10 09:07:00 Gave up Woosh and got my money back. Must be my old computers but with 98SE I had great trouble connecting. The help desk gave up and said it must be a faulty modem. Exchanged it and still had the same problems. They very quickly arranged a technician to come and help and he got it going on one computer useing a USB connection. I then got him to set up a broadband ( Dick Smith ) router and this worked using my ethernet. Great. 2 computers sharing the same modem and internet account. Wrong. The connection was slow and for some reason would not open the ihug home page. I had to ask the modem to log on after opening my browser/email. So a refund and back to my reliable ADSL Jetstream Starter using a Nokia M1122 and ihug. David DavidW (532)
214307 2004-02-10 09:18:00 O, you fella's are so lucky...
I'm limtied to (bad quality) Dial up, or ihug's satelite...

Woosh seems like the perfect way to get on the net.

Me and my mates have been so desperate, we tried setting up a wireless LAN over about 1~3km so we could use a mates net connection (we were going to share cost etc) but this brought no luck (though that new WiMax is looking good!)

Oweel, i just can't wait till i leave school and move to the city...

I bet by the time you leave school, there will be where you are. ( I am only guessing here)

I am intrigued by the number of folks who choose Starter instead of the faster Jetstream option. Comments please on how is goes for you.
