How can one compete with something that is free as in beer. The comment about "If they move to another operating system, they will need to rethink and relearn" was interesting. Look how many users have posted threads, interested in Linux, or alternative Operating Systems! I remember back when I first tried Redhat 8, I was the only person posting on the topic of Linux for around 3 or so months... We dont see a week out now without somebody interested in it! Gary Barnett, research director at Ovum, said that "Although Linux is not a viable alternative for mainstream users at the moment, he expects that it will be in a year's time..... ....Linux has a crucial role in giving people choice" A years time? I think it'll be much sooner than that.... Bring it on I say :-) Chill. |
