| 214759 | 2004-02-11 22:34:00 | Hi, Microsoft IME, the language plug-in seems to mess up my Office XP Pro. I just finished formatting my HDD a few days ago and installed the IME (Symplified Chinese) before Office XP... When I tried to install Office after that, the computer won't let me do it saying that it can't find the Cabinet file in the CD-ROM. I reformatted and started all over again (making sure this time I installed Office first). Funnily enough it worked. But yesterday, I tried to update Office but it won't let me. Also the spell checker and maybe the grammar checker is not working now... I think the fault is with the IME... How do I remove the IME from the pc without having to nuke me HDD again? Cheers |

(i guess you have winXP) incidentally, i use the japanese ime with officeXP and have no problems. a thought, do you have only chinese as your input language? see i have both english and japanese. so maybe not having english (if that's your case) is the problem... |
