| 214964 | 2004-02-12 23:07:00 | I have recently had a system crash and am trying to rebuild my systems. I have OE6 and find that the backup of email and address data that i had on CD will not be accepted by OE, even after trying 'import', etc. Currently i am using the database that loaded from the OS, etc reinstall. Is there an other way to transfer the files? I have tried 'drag and drop' to OE in 'Program Files' which transfers the files but they do not get recognised and displayed when I load up OE. Another problem that has shown up, is that when I attempt to send an email, I get a 'MS Works' window popping up and asking me to load up the 'MS Works' disk. This i have to cancell out before the message will be sent. Cheers Gary |

| 214966 | 2004-02-13 00:03:00 | Hi Many thanks for that. It has done the job. However, when I try to do the same for the '.wab' folder of addresses, the file does not display in the 'import' window when I open up the 'temp' folder that I have copied it to. On checking the file properties, the 'read only' box is not checked. Cheers Gary |

Note that if you are using WinXP you may find more than one wab file but the one you want will be in your username's folder. You may also need to enable "show hidden files and folders" in both Win Explorer and the search box. If you need more help just ask. :-) |
