215158 2004-02-13 05:26:00 Hi there,

I use the Spybot program to help keep my computer running smoothly. I have tried to eliminate as many programs from the start up as possible.I have IST service running but Spybot tells me that it is unnecessary so I have tried to eliminate it by removing the tic from the box next to it. The tic disappears but when I reopen Spybot it is back again! I tried removing it using msconfig and going into startup but this also has had no effect.

Can anyone tell me how to stop it from running at startup please, or even if it is necessary to have it on the computer.

Regards,

Mervselm.

215161 2004-02-13 07:20:00 It would seem to me that its not getting fully removed and just re-inserting itself on start-up.

Try running spybot in safe mode.

Give ad-awere a run as well.
