I am getting a message at startup saying " Can't find Script file" C:\windows\temp\net\net.js

try giveing adaware or spybot a run and scan your pc with an upto date antivirus.

otherwise take the command out of startup.

There is quite a list in startup but have tried shutting off everything but the basics & it don't help
Have run the recovery disc so should'nt be missing any files

215139 2004-02-13 05:58:00 *.js is Jave Script file. Do a search for references to it in the registry also open notepad and look in the win.ini and the [boot] section of the system.ini file in your C:\windows directory. If not there do a search for references to it in the registry also open.

But didn't help.
Tryed to reinstall ie6 but would not complete.
Will try for windows update.

But its complaining that it cannot find a Javascript ( . js) file .

That means a Javascript file is missing, yet you are busy deleting even more?

Deleting more . js files won't help, will only make it worse . You need to find out what application is wanting to run the . js file . The application will not have a . js extension . . . .
