| 214846 | 2004-02-12 08:21:00 | One week ago my 10 gig harddrive had about 5 gb free space. Today it has 1.2 gb free space. Using a program called Diskdata I have tracked the problem to a file called index.dat in the windows/history folder that has bloated to 4 gb. The file isn't visible in explorer although 4 other files called index.dat are visible. Can I simply delete the entire history folder or is there a smarter way of getting rid of this file? ( Am using windows 98se). Any suggestions appreciated. | Garry B (5260) | ||

| 214848 | 2004-02-12 08:37:00 | also double check your temp internet and history settings. also scan for spyware. set temp intenet file size to between 20-40 meg and history to 5 days or so. | tweak'e (174) | ||

Pity those pages take so long to load these days its enough to put a saint off. :-( |
