1355652 2013-10-10 05:10:00 Hey all you techie ones.

I use Panda antivirus software and it "seems" to be blocking a program that I want to access the internet.

I'm running the sodden vista and don't seem to be able to allow, the said program, to get through.

Being a long time, well since it come out, XP user I was able to do it on my XP lappy.

Any ideas please how I can do this, or do you's have any ideas on a good free anti-virus?

Thanks,

Ian

It wont be the Antivirus it will be the firewall side blocking.

1355655 2013-10-10 08:14:00 Dont use Panda, But generally a Antivirus on its own wont block a program unless its some sort of infection type activity triggering it.

A firewall will stop Programs. As long as Panda does have a firewall ( which seems to have) it will ( or should) override inbuilt one in Vista.

The general way firewalls work will be the same, you go into the firewall settings, someplace will be "rules" or similar wording - and you select unblock / allow a blocked program, or you can enter in the details of a program to allow - but what version Of panda do you have. That link was just a generic suggestion.

1355656 2013-10-10 09:04:00 I'm using Pandas freebie.
The main reason we concurred was that both computers are running panda and windows firewalls.
