1334958	2013-04-04 05:48:00	I haven't bought a PC mag in a long while. I used to love the games and a fair few of the apps and articles, but really I think the price you pay isn't really worth it anymore. That and I can't afford it besides, and that's not just PCWorld either. I used to buy netguide and a few of the others too. In any case, some of these recommendations seem to be on par with a visit to downloadmoreram.com. They're a magazine for PC users, not so much a magazine for people who've got no clue (ie mac users). I think the recommendation to install a few programs is cool, including MBAM, CCleaner, etc etc, but I think anyone who buys PCWorld would understand that actually installing or upgrading some hardware is necessary to speed things up. I mean I'd expect things like upgrade guides, buyers guides, neat little tips and tricks that people don't know about would be far more useful. Like tips for removing startup applications, disabling services, automation of tasks and whatnot.	8ftmetalhaed (14526)

I removed the custom profile title and immediately gave a 24 hour ban. Rinse and repeat, except it is for 3 days this time. I can't believe how nosy some people are. :DWOW, no double standards on this board are there, so its fine for a moderator to call a member a prick, but not the other way round!!! Clearly you didnt remove it because I never re-entered it, I would have entered it into my sig instead if I was going to do it, so stop telling lies and making excuses for going on your little power trip. I had nothing to do with it and was only on for 10 minutes which I tried replying to Nick as he sent me a PM. Before I could even post the reply to him, I was banned again. So sort your facts out before accusing me of something I didnt even have time to do. That title had been there since the end of Feb, yet action was only taken now, thanks for taking the attention away from the real reason of this thread. Of course the right thing to do for falsely banning someone and trying to jusify it with lies would be to show some professionalism and accountability and apologise, but I can see you are proud of yourself for what you have done so thats not going to happen ah - just as Chill never apologised for abusing another member and calling them a prick. Mind taking off your tinfoil hat for long enough to tell us why we would bother wasting our time setting up an elaborate hoax like that? We don't get paid to do this, we do it for the love of tech, so why would we waste our time on something silly like you're suggesting? Think about it...	Chilling_Silence (9)

Firstly, I owe you an apology for the second banning. I did remove your custom title in the admin section and saved that change for the first time you were banned. However, I did not check to make sure it had worked. So, when you became un-banned and the custom title re-appeared I thought you had put it back in again. I did wait to see whether you would removed it again yourself and when it wasn't, I did the second ban. I thought you had about 30 minutes to an hour between bannings - plenty of time as you were active on the board, to remove that title yourself. When your second ban lifted I checked your custom title and it was back again. I removed the words again, saved and this time viewed your profile to see what displayed. Despite deleting the words in the admin section it did not clear it out of your profile. So I added the words "Senior member" and saved that. This time it did replace your custom profile words. So, I do again apologise for the second banning, I should have checked the deletion worked correctly and given you more time to correct it yourself. I will make sure I do this correctly in future. However, you did deserve the first banning for the original offense. I had no idea how long it had been there because it had only been brought to the Moderators attention just before you were banned. As already mentioned, I only said why you had been banned in this thread because I didn't want anyone to confuse your post content with the reason for your ban. I hope this clears the air.	Jen (38)

Am I missing something here because I can’t see any mention of a hoax in Ian’s Post? The way I read it is he is suggesting that Jen removed/edited something and didn’t save the changes she made. Then she accused Ian of re-editing what ever it was (which he hadn’t) and banned him for something he didn’t do. The hoax interpretation is a figment of your imagination just like the non existent law change covered in another thread.	B.M. (505)
