In other news, here's my top ways to speed up your PC: 1) Use CCleaner to get rid of extra temporary crap 2) Defrag your HDD, makes a lot of difference, use Defraggler, free from piriform 3) Stop applications starting on boot, as mentioned by Wainuitech using msconfig 4) Uninstall your Antivirus / Security Suite / Firewall, replace it with NOD32 Antivirus and nothing more, make sure you tell it to detect PUPs. 5) Look at your system RAM, if you're running XP you're gonna want 2GB+. If you're running Vista / 7 then you're gonna want 4GB 6) Investigate a Solid State HDD for your primary HDD and keep your Docs / music / videos / downloads on a mass storage drive. That's personally where I'd start. 3 applications, nothing more. |

Example ran Ccleaner today on a persons laptop, took out just over a GB, then ran TFC, removed a further 300MB ( roughly) |
