2013-10-19 05:01:00 | I can check it out with teamviewer if you want. If you want me to have a look get teamviewer (http://www.teamviewer.com) you can either install it or run it select run and personal. Then tell me, what the ID and password is, in a PM | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2013-10-19 05:29:00 | Did you change or move any folders in win8?? ie: Like move the users folder / the documents folder / the pics folder, to another partition or another hdd or something?? It looks like some of these errors can be caused by doing this via symbolic links | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2013-10-19 05:50:00 | Yes I've moved the documents and pics folders to a different partition called storage so I could use them in both Windows and Ubuntu. I'll PM you momentarily after it's installed | Filthygamer (16897) | |
2013-10-19 06:53:00 | I cant see anything, the TV site site says if it's black, either something is blocking it. Or you're using remote desktop for something. You have to kill / stop RD first, if you are | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2013-10-19 07:12:00 | Oh I see the problem now...I had Splashtop Streamer running in the background... I've closed it and PMed you the new ID and password. Thanks!

2013-10-19 10:51:00 | FYI anyone who's looking at this thread after some dabbling around it was decided that the best course of action was to use a bootable 8.1 media and start from scratch :-) Thanks for all your help esp Speedy | Filthygamer (16897) | |
2013-10-19 10:53:00 | no probs | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2013-10-20 03:48:00 | Whats the brand / Model of Laptop. ? There were a few problems with Lenovo's and the Preview of 8.1 Could be the same or similar problem. Also what Antivirus did you have on Win 8. Hardly any would run on 8.1, causing crashes etc. If your AV is a third party AV then that can be the cause as well. Avast free adition works with 8.1 and also bitdefender total security also works

There were hundreds of people complaining AVG was causing problems Previously. Mind you AVG isn't worth the money you pay for it, even though it is free. Its useless. Got a PC here that was so riddled with infection s it cant be repaired, needs a re install. AND thats the latest 2014 version which says the Computer was clean. | wainuitech (129) | ||
