Anyway they had a camera mounted on the underbelly. Sadly it wasn't very effective due to the smog/low cloud cover but it did give a nice view of the approach to the island once we broke through the cloud ceiling. It would be cool if they put more cameras in the new planes, glass bottoms, although cool would be sadly far too costly and cumbersome to install, and the discomfort to people afraid of height would cause too many problems. As far as april fools goes, I haven't run into any great ones this year, although looking at youtube shutdown or similar hashtags on twitter is funny. Some cabbage buggers actually think it's going to close :D I'm surprised I've not been pranked, given the fact I live in a Uni halls of residence I'm rather amazed that I've come through unscathed! |

| 1334781 | 2013-04-01 08:52:00 | There was an article in the Southland Times front page. Southland duck shooting is expected to be cancelled due to low water levels in ponds. This could lead to over shooting and a decline in numbers. It appears that legislation exists that makes it illegal to shoot ducks that are tired or fatigued because of environmental factors such as drought. This is not fair on ducks. Fish and Game were to make a decision by noon on 1 April 2013. For some reason I could google the item but when I clicked on the link all I got was gibberish. |
