1334101 2013-03-26 04:22:00 The NZ new Mazda 6 has the same issue

I bought my car from Olgo Motors ( http://www.olgomotors.co.nz/ ) - they regularly import cars from Japan. If anyone around CHCH is thinking of buying a car, I recommend checking them out because of the great customer service - since I was coming up from Invercargill to get the car, he arranged to meet at the Rolleston BP station & do the whole deal there at 7PM on a Saturday night. Apart from the stereo (which I had a feeling wouldn't be easy to replace even before I bought the car) I am really happy with it.

The frequency of the jap FM ends where ours starts. Dont start me off with band expanders, they are good if you want to listen to 3 fm stations at once and drive outside the city limits and the reception is weak. Bugger I started myself off.

In the case of the mazda 6 you can chuck an nz new stereo in pretty easy.

1334105 2013-03-26 07:42:00 My radio is set to Coast 105.4 if a stink song is on I have a couple 100 songs on usb stick. The amp and speakers on the service truck are worth more than the truck. Tax deductible I might add. Only got one grumpy customer who asks me to turn the sounds down on my truck at his yard.
The hardest thing is finding an after market panel cut out for a head unit to replace the **** OEM radio panel.

to neatly cover the OEM radio panel, try 3cups sand, 1 cup cement, 1/2 cup water, 1/9 tsp detergent well mixed and firmly tamped into place with the back of a spade at VNE. Amazing improvement to the early mornieng moron on Coast. ;) As is muter. :thumbs

1334107 2013-03-26 20:54:00 Has anyone tried the $79 car radio from the Warehouse? Yes yes I know you're supposed to get what you pay for but

it has a Remote, USB, SD card, aux-in, does mp3, has BT, and avoids a cluttering CD slot. Is it the power amps that let it down?

(If someone has one of these I would be interested to know if the BT will stream from a smartphone either IOS or Android)

Model: AHF-520 (or the 810 which seems to be the same except that it has CD and costs $70 more)

Get a Sony or JVC on special from Repco.
