| 1473332 | 2020-11-29 01:28:00 | I have used CCleaner for many years. When I bought new laptop in September I decided to "bed matters down" by limiting reinstallation of several programs. I then planned to later reinstall some. I have tried may times to download and install CCleaner from the CCleaner website. I download the file but when I run installation a white screen appears with a solid horizontal line at the top across the entire width. I have also tried downloading and installing from websites other than CCleaner's website. Exactly same result. Can someone guide me re overcoming this issue. Thanks Neil |

| 1473333 | 2020-11-29 03:26:00 | Weird -- is it only Ccleaner you are having problems with installing ? There were problems with Version 5.65 but they sorted that, the current is 5.74 What AV is installed ? Also what Version of W10 is it ?? From search type in WINVER the current is 20H2 |

It will usually be one of 3 -- AVG AV, ccleaner Browser or A VPN Just found this -- its not uncommon, as well as suggestion - community.ccleaner.com The White screen is to do with the crap they try to install, as the Slim version doesn't have the option and normally works. |

Its really not needed ,and you certainly dont want more spyware/adware/crapware on Win10 its no longer owned by the same company as it used to be . take that as a hint :-) Perhaps your AV is actually blocking the install. www.makeuseof.com "Later, the company introduced an "Active Monitoring" feature that collected anonymized data about your usage. This is fairly standard, but the problem was that when you turned the setting off, it re-enabled itself upon a reboot" |

| 1473336 | 2020-12-01 21:06:00 | Thanks ,Wainui The links you provided exactly showed the white screen with blue line that I experienced. I then chose the Slim Install option and that worked fine. Info only -my AV is solely Windows Defender. I am still on Win 10 Build 2004 which is what Microsoft recommends until they are able to fix the Synaptics Audio issue when Auto update to 20H will be made available Thanks again -I was feeling totally frustrated until your fix Neil |
