1477943 2021-06-26 02:15:00 I have no idea what you mean by "Linux 18" but it depends on the distro. Some aggressively deprecate support for older hardware while others don't. Linux Mint 18, Didn't think i would have to give a complete example, as most of the Distros have 18.????? wainuitech (129)

A lot of them don't, actually.
It was only Ubuntu and its derivatives that started the Year.Month versioning scheme.

For Debian, which Ubuntu is based on, the latest is version 10.

None of these numbers are as useful as knowing which kernel version a given distro uses, which has much more influence on its hardware support.

This is especially true for rolling release distros which don't have specific versions, and/or where the kernel version is up to the user's choice.

1477945 2021-06-27 02:52:00 Looks like MS has updated the PC Health app. It now gives a reason as to why the PC is not compatible. My old desk top is because lack of secure boot, My wife's 5 year old HP and my 2 year old laptops The Processor isn't supported for Windows 11. My granddaughter's 1 year old HP laptop is supported. Check a couple of desktops at my Wife's church to day both a year old and no TPM support. paulw (1826)

So possibly, everything else passed even TPM yet the official MS tool just told me I wouldn't be able to upgrade yet gave no other info except a big fat No

1477948 2021-06-27 23:17:00 MS Have updated the requirements page.
www.microsoft.com

Still too much vagueness though. Why did they say may not ?
"If your device does not meet these requirements, you may not be able to install Windows 11"

TPM2 is now a REQUIREMENT , (NOT TPM1.2)
Newest Generation CPU's will be a requirement . Even some not that old i3,i5 & early Ryzens CPUs wont meet spec (incl mine)

Just because a leaked unofficial test version installed on an old PC is irrelevant :)
Its going to be a slow uptake on Win11. Most people simply wont be able to upgrade to Win11 on what they have .
