My pleasure. :D

1478035 2021-06-21 06:05:00 And if they ran a generator off each wheel of their EV they could recharge the battery as they travelled and not need to use mains power at all. :D

By then, of course, you would be using more battery power to run the generators to generate power to run the generators.:waughh: Somehow I don't think that would be very efficient.:illogical

There is no such thing as perpetual motion.

Really  zqwerty told me I'd invented it.

Anyway, why would I be using power to run the generators? They are permanent magnet. :angry

1478037 2021-06-21 09:01:00 I have a friend who is an auto electrician who has now repaired 2 Tesla's and has sworn never to work on another one due to the very substandard in his words build quality.

correct. well known that telsa cars are pretty mediocre quality wise. they just do not have the car making experience that the existing manufactures have.

1478040 2021-06-21 10:55:00 Just use petrol, it was found to be the best solution to the problem of portable fuel storage re weight vs power density/safety/price years ago and that hasn't changed.

Stacking hundreds of cells in series to make one huge battery, around 400 volts in effect, is a really bad, ugly solution to the problem of portable safe long distance transportation.

Buying a EV to use in remote locations (just so stupid), so its charged off their diesel generator.
