| 215630 | 2004-02-15 02:08:00 | ive got a fairly new machine (p4 2.6,1gb ram etc) its very quick usualy except when i try to go into outlook it just dusnt seem to load for about 20 sec's then it starts loading. I think it started doing this after i installed an office update but im not too sure. I kinda wana no wat the problem is and how i can fix it as i didnt buy a new computer to be slow | chev (4888) | ||

| 215632 | 2004-02-15 03:59:00 | If you are using WinXP you can try the prefetch trick to launch programs faster. Right click on the shortcut > Properties, and under Target add after the last " mark, one blank space and then /prefetch:1. An example of this for my Firefox browser (I don't have Outlook to use as an example) would be: Target: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" /prefetch:1 See if this makes a difference if you are using WinXP. |
