| 215363 | 2004-02-14 02:44:00 | On boot up get a message which says Win shutting down to prevent damage etc... UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME. I cannot start up in safe mode or get to the recovery console, nothing works. Cannot boot from the cdr or XP floppy disk or from Norton cd. F8 brings up the advanced choices but nothing occurs when Safe mode or any other mode is selected. Tech info says STOP 0x000000ed (0x8f4c7e8,0xc0000032,0x00000000,0x00000000) Am not using the pc with problem Any ideas please Thanks |

| 215367 | 2004-02-14 03:22:00 | Thanks a bundle Babe Ruth - but the main problem is that I can't boot from anything, recovery cd, full system cd from another 'puter, Norton AV full cd, floppy, hdd all bomb out . Would love to check bios settings but can't get to them . Can't boot to Safe mode, Recovery console or any other thing . Worst of all it's a PC Company setup so has recovery (?) cd but no full system cd so don't wanna do too much damage 'cos won't be able to reload XP!! . Can anyone else help please??? Thanks |
