| 215343 | 2004-02-14 00:21:00 | I have windows XP home version and internet explorer with an icon on the desktop. I have always been able to doubleclick on the icon and up would come the dialup connection panel allowing me to access my homepage on the internet. Now all of a sudden I get the message " No connection to the internet is currently available. To view internet content that has been saved on your computer click work offline. Click try again to attempt to connect." When I click try again I get the large message The page cannot be displayed please try the following: Click refresh etc., etc. I might add that there is no problem connecting to my ISP XTRA in outlook express for my mail. What I have to do now to access the internet is to go through outlook express, connect to the internet via outlook express, close down outlook express and then click the internet explorer icon. This is a bit of a round about way of doing it and a bit tedious. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers........Heaton |

| 215344 | 2004-02-14 00:37:00 | Try this: bring up Windows Explorer, then click on Dial-up networking. make the window smaller so you can see your desktop, then drag and drop 'your connection' icon onto the desktop. This works with Win98, not sure about XP, if not, use the Find files and folders and type in Dial-up networking and do as above. You should now be able to access the internet without going through your mail program. There's a possibility that Internet Explorer is not configured correctly, you could try using the Internet Connection Wizard. Hope that helps Buzz |

| 215345 | 2004-02-14 00:43:00 | When Internet Explorer is open click on Tools | Internet Options | Connections. You should be able to see your Xtra connection displayed there, make sure that it is set as default. Then make sure that "always dial my default connection" is ticked, then click on OK. Shut down IE and try again. Hope that works sam m |

| 215346 | 2004-02-14 01:00:00 | Thanks for your suggestions. I could not find anything wrong in my internet connection settings so did a system restore to two days ago and that seems to have fixed it. Will now do a system virus check in case it was a nasty. Cheers......Heaton |
