| 215975 | 2004-02-16 06:59:00 | I can check my bill on my isp website, and that logs how long I have been on the puter each day, as for emptying the recycle bin, don't know how to check that, and if you want to see what anyone has done on the puter through the day, when online, check the history button. | 215976 | 2004-02-16 07:19:00 | A quick check - something on you screen should show you as being connected if you are on a dial up modem. If you mean physically: the type of connection you have, and the type of modem or box connected to the internet will tell you when you are connected. If it is a stand alone box the lights TX (Send) Rx(Receive) will light up when its sending or receiveing and another light will tell you you are connected. If you have a built in Modem or a modem in a card, you need to rely on the two little lights on your bottom rt (Next to the time) tool bar. If the lights are there you are connected, if they glow, the modem is sending or receiving depending on which light is lit. Hovering your mouse over the lights usually tells you whats going on. If you have DSL vs dial up modem, the same lights will be seen on the modem box. If you have DSL, be sure you have a firewall on at all times when connected. You can get free ones on the net (Try Zone alarm, or Tiny Firewall www.tucows.co.nz ) AND be sure to turn the computer or modem off when you are not using the computer or you could end up owing some big dollars.
