How cool is carbon fiber?
I’ve been looking at carbon fiber bikes and I want to know how they are made.
I’m wanting to learn how to make carbon fiber objects (rods, sheets, MTB frame and cool stuff)
My 1st problem is, I don’t know how it is made, and does anyone have any links to pictorial websites?
My 2nd problem is, where do you get the stuff to make it?
My 3rd question is, are there any courses in Christchurch where they teach you the basics, I looked at the Christchurch Polytechnic but they don’t have anything.

215766 2004-02-15 12:03:00 A Google search fives 1270,00 results on the words "carbon fibre".

The first page looks good enough to answer some of your questions - for starters, at least..

You can do hobbyist things quite easily, but bigger items could require access to an oven and more sophisticated laying up techniques.

Carbon Fibre 101 (www.nsxprime.com) will give you a quick overview.
